Deerly Beloved Bakery 4 Today!
Today is a very special day as Deerly Beloved Bakery turns 4 years old today! :D
I want to say a big thank you to all my customers, customers who have turned into good friends, supporters, and the shops I supply; St. Benedict's Food Store, Biddy's Tea Room, Waterstones Norwich Cafe W and Unio Coffee you are all amazing!
I would also like to thank my little team of helpers, my husband Kyle (or aka mr delivery man, washerupper and stall helper) my sister Danielle, and my mum and step dad who all step up to help out this one woman business!
So I thought I would share a picture of some of the highlights of Deerly Beloved so far:

Mothers Day and Easter Treats!
Mothers day and Easter have arrived and here at Deerly Beloved and we have lots of cakes and bakes to make your spring celebrations a real treat!
Our classic celebration cakes come in double layers and a range of flavours!
If you want something bespoke please contact us and we can come up with the perfect cake for your beloved!The celebration cakes can be made in 4.5'', 8'' and 10'' round cakes and serve 2, 10, 16 (respectively) generous slices.
Our cakes can be made GF by using no gluten containing ingredients, and although we have a strict cross contamination policy, please bear in mind we do use gluten flour in our kitchen.
All ingredients are local, seasonal and fairtrade where possible and 100% cruelty free!They are freshly made to order, no cakes hanging around waiting to be sold here!
They can either be collected from the bakery or delivered in the Norwich area for a £4 charge.
Ordering can't be simpler! Email your order to deerlybelovedbakeryvegan@gmail.com and you can either pay by cheque or we can send a PayPal invoice to your email address.
Once we have received your payment we will send you an email confirmation and your cakes will be freshly made, ready for you to collect or be delivered in the Norwich area.
The Deerly Beloved Easter Celebration Cake is a rich chocolate cake sandwiched with a chocolate buttercream inside and then covered with white icing. It is then topped with beautiful handmade daffodils and mascari flowers!

Chickpea, Kale and Cauliflower Curry Hand Pies Recipe
Makes 2 large hand pies
Ingredients:
2 Tbsps of Sunflower Oil
2 Level Tbsp of Mild Garam Masala Powder
1 Tbsp of Mustard Seeds
1/2 Tbsp of Cumin Seeds
2 Leeks finely chopped
1 Large Carrot finely Chopped
1 Cup Cauliflower Florets
1 Cup roughly chopped Kale or Cavolo Nero
2 Medium Potatoes Chopped into cubes
1 Can of Chickpeas
Pinch of Salt to taste
1/2 Tsp of sugar
2 Cups Soya/ Coconut Milk
1 Cup of Water
1 block of ready made puff pastry
In a pan gently fry the garam masala, mustard seeds and the cumin seeds to bring out the flavours for about 30 seconds.
Then add the leeks, carrot, cauliflower, kale and potatoes to the pan along with the chickpeas. Stir to coat in the spices. Add the soya milk and water to the pan, pop on a lid and lower the heat. Let it cook for around 25 mins until the potatoes are cooked through, stirring every now and again so not to let the curry stick to the pan and burn. If it gets too thick while cooking add a little more water. However you want the curry to be fairly thick so when it comes to putting it in the pastry it doesn't run everywhere!
Check the seasoning. Add more salt or even a little more garam masala if you want a little more curry zing!
Once cooked take off the heat and leave to cool for 15 mins otherwise the heat of the curry will melt your pastry!
Roll out your pastry into a large rectangle and cut into two. Place a good amount of the mixture into the center of each piece of pastry and fold over and use a little water to seal the pie. Crimp the edges to secure and make two slits in the top of the pastry to help let out steam while it cooks. Pop the pies on some greaseproof paper and into a pre heated oven at 200c for about 30 mins.
Make sure they are piping hot in the middle and serve!
These are great cold and also freeze really well too!

Red Velvet Cake.
Classic Red Velvet cake coloured with vegan colouring, with vanilla buttercream, red drizzled icing and cherry pieces. It is said to be in honour of the deep red mud of the Mississippi river.

Once we have recieved orders for the first 20 t-shirts we will place the order to get the t-shirts made and then they will be sent to you first class.
