Summer Garden Chocolate Collection

£7 for a box of 6

June is the month summer really starts (hopefully) so to celebrate we have created the Summer Garden Collection. All created with garden produce in mind! The lavender, mint, lemon balm and tomatoes are all grown in the Deerly Beloved garden too, talk about local ingredients!

Tomato and Mint Truffle: Rich tomato (yes we said tomato, well it is a fruit) adds depth and savoury sweetness to this rich truffle and added fresh mint gives it a light summery freshness. Topped with a pinch of mint sugar, this is the new Deerly Beloved favourite!

Lavender Salted Caramel Truffle: A floral lavender truffle combined with a pinch of Cornish sea salt to bring out the caramel notes in the 62% chocolate.

Lemon Balm Truffle: This light lemon truffle showcases lemon balm at it's best. Topped off with a pinch of lemon balm sugar and an orange blossom flower.

Ingredients: All truffles contain organic cocoa solids 62% cocoa butter, non bone char sugar, soya lecithin, soya milk/coconut milk.
Tomato and mint contains: organic tomato and fresh mint.
Lavender salted caramel contains: Dried organic lavender and cornish sea salt.
Lemon balm truffle contains: Fresh Lemon Balm, lemon juice, zest and orange blossom flower.

All boxes can be posted in the UK for £3.30. We use the best ingredients, all our chocolate is organic and fairtrade, and once posted the chocolates will be at their best for a week (if they last that long!) Bigger boxes can be purchased. Ordering can't be simpler! Email your order to  deerlybelovedbakeryvegan@gmail.com and you can either pay by cheque or I can send a PayPal invoice to your email address. Once I have received your payment I will send you an email confirmation and your chocolates will be freshly made and sent!

Beautiful vegan shoes

http://www.facebook.com/goodguysparis
The other night (way past my bedtime) I was reading and hunting out new blogs (a past time I love doing when I am not up to my elbows in whoopie pie mix) and I happened to find these beautiful Parisian vegan shoes! As I have always been a total tomboy, I love shoes that have a feminine feel to them without teetering heels and glitzy bits stuck on every available space. So I am so pleased to find a range of shoes that are in keeping with my ethics without having to change my style!
I then discovered that the lady who designs them, Marion Hanania, is also friends with my good friend Jeffrey Lewis! What a small world it is! So I decided to contact Marion and ask her a few questions about her vegan shoe range 'Good Guys'.

DBB: Why did you start good guys?

MH: Because I've been a shoe designer for 10 years now and a vegetarian, and I always knew that if I created my own line of shoes, it would be without using any animal products. So that's what I've done!

DBB: What are your inspirations?

MH: Basic men's footwear from the 50's mostly. I was looking into styles that I could wear and that my boyfriend could also wear. I designed very masculine styles, but I added a little twist to make them wearable by women and men. The twist could be the "Swedish ribbon" that I put on the most classic design, or the bright and playful colors that I used for my spring summer collection. I put my everyday inspiration in my blog...

DBB: Who is your style icon?

MH: I have Lots of them: Bob Dylan, Amélia Earhart, Joni Mitchell, Paul McCartney, Jemima Kirke, Yaya Herman Dune, Madeline Valentine......You should google everyone of them!

DBB: What is your favourite vegan food?

MH: It would be a delicious vegan burger at Loving Hut in Paris!

DBB: How would you sum up your style in three words?

MH: Vintage dresses, denim from head to toe, and a pull over winter through to summer.

DBB: What three things could you not live without?

MH: •A sketchbook and a book to read
•My twin sister and my boyfriend
       •Traveling....

Have a good day ! Thanks for the fun questions :o) ~Marion

Thanks so much to Marion for answering my questions! Please check out her wonderful shoes here:

Jubilee Weekend!

Hope you are having a great long bank holiday! The bakery was closed Saturday and Sunday as everyone needs a little rest and time to have fun! We started friday night off with a lovely meal after a long and tiring working day! We had Spicy re-fried beans, potato and onion rosti's, corn, and a coriander, cucumber and tomato salsa. It was heaven on a plate!
On Saturday Kyle had I had a 'date' day and took ourselves of to the cinema to see Prometheus, which we had been looking forward to seeing for ages. It was okay, we were a little disappointed, but it was still great to go to the cinema as it is quite a rare treat in our house, as was seeing a film on a big screen as we don't have a TV! (Well we do have a little one that we watch dvd's on).
We also enjoyed a lovely  hazelnut coffee at The Cherry Leaf. They do a really nice range of coffees and a cherry hot chocolate, which is one of the only cafe's I know of in Norwich to do a vegan hot chocolate!
Then on sunday we went to my mum's house and she made us a lovely meal and a delicious cranberry sponge with coconut cream and fruit on top! I hope you have all had a great weekend! X
